This is important to her so she can push concepts into the school to <br /> enable change. <br /> Celeste Reynolds will take over leading the Human Rights Club. <br /> ELPAC (English as a Second Language Parent Advisory Council <br /> Courtney Schneeweiss, English Language Coordinator and staff liaison to ELPAC, is present <br /> this evening. This group has challenges in gaining attendance, and is really pushing for a <br /> parent-led group. The language barrier presents within the families, this group helps overcome, <br /> translate, and understand the day to day life in America and how to access information for their <br /> kids. This is her 7tn year helping, her first year she had 8 students and this year she has 35. <br /> SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) <br /> Clara Ryan, a parent representative of SEPAC, a group that works toward understanding <br /> respect, support, and appropriate education for all children with disabilities in our community. <br /> They act in an advisory capacity with support for families, information or resources, answering <br /> questions, voicing concerns, or sharing experiences. Right now, there is a transition within the <br /> district with a new Special Education Director and Superintendent. This group is more parent- <br /> led, and they are also looking for more engagement and to grow membership with new voices. <br /> Currently, they only have three members. <br /> Mr. Kupferman commented there are non-profit tables at Race Amity Day, he noted if their <br /> group would like, he would welcome them. <br /> Community Night <br /> August 6, 2025 <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> MOTION: <br /> Richard Klein made a motion to adjourn the meeting of the Mashpee Inclusion & <br /> Diversity Committee at 5:54PM.
