All three vehicles proposed for <br /> replacement get daily use near saltwater,which has led to considerable rust and corrosion. Additionally, <br /> the vehicles have been experiencing mechanical issues and the related repair costs are excessive. The <br /> expectation is that these replacement vehicles will last 5-7 years. The F-350 is expensive but is used to <br /> support DPW's plowing operation, and the proposed new vehicle would come with a full plow package <br /> and aluminum bed liner. The department could function effectively with a new F-350 and new F-150,the <br /> total of which would be $144,732, then come back to CIP next year for another F-150.
