Select Board <br /> August 25,2025 <br /> Minutes <br /> Hyannis to the Joint Base Cape Cod (JBCC). The council advised MassDevelopment to <br /> proceed with this study. Selectman Weeden expressed support for the Board taking an <br /> official position by drafting a joint municipal letter of disapproval—signed by Mashpee, <br /> Falmouth, and Sandwich, the three communities most directly impacted by the proposed <br /> airport relocation. <br /> WATER QUALITY UPDATES <br /> TOWN MANAGER UPDATES <br /> An update was provided concerning 0 Gunters Lane,including a full copy of the legalopinion <br /> related to the property. <br /> The County is exploring support options for implementing a real estate transfer fee on high- <br /> value properties. The town is reviewing this as part of its affordable housing efforts. A joint <br /> meeting between the Select Board and Affordable Housing Committee is scheduled for <br /> September 15 to discuss further. <br /> It was noted that cybersecurity is an increasinglycritical issue,with several recent incidents <br /> highlightingvuln era bilities. There is a recognized need for specific cybersecurity trainingfor <br /> all staff to strengthen the town's defenses. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Weeden to move into executive session to consider the <br /> purchase of 9, 17, 25, and 33 Pickerel Cove Road, Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> Vote: 5-0 Unanimous <br /> Roll Call Vote <br /> Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo-yes <br /> Selectman Weeden-yes <br /> Selectman Cotton-yes <br /> Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson-yes <br /> Selectman Richardson-yes <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> G.L. c.30A, Sec. 21(a) Clause 6, to consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real <br /> property if the Chair declares that an open meeting may have a detrimental effect on the <br /> 16 <br />
