7 Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
w$XJI:YYF.µ'1
NOI 180 Waterway, Steven M. & Jill M. Purpura. Proposed replacement of pool, pool patio, 43-
and deck with proposed addition to existing dwelling, drywell installation, hardscape, 3258
and parking area improvements.
(Representative: Cape & Islands Engineering Inc.) (cont. 8.21)
• Cape and Islands Engineering presented a proposal for property improvements within
coastal storm flowage, salt marsh, coastal bank, and buffer zones. Work will remain in
previously disturbed areas and includes a 20x42 pool with auto cover, new decks and patio,
expanded living space, stair removal, dry wells for runoff, sediment controls, and
revegetation.
• Commissioners reviewed nitrogen loading, impervious surfaces, and compliance with
Regulation 25; the applicant confirmed limits are met and native plantings added. Flood
projections show three feet of inundation by 2050-2070, with the pool designed to
withstand conditions through check valves and automatic cover.
• Discussion addressed dock compliance: the original licensed 216 sq. ft. float remains valid,
but later unpermitted extensions must be removed or permitted through a Notice of Intent.
The applicant also agreed to direct all gutters to dry wells, implement a three-year planting
monitoring plan, and use the east side gate for access to limit slope disturbance.
MOTION: To close the public hearing on 180 Waterway with the
conditions including gutter redirection to dry wells, Chapter 91
compliance for the dock/float, or file a NOI for other alterations
and will be an RDA if Chapter 91 is revisited and a three-year
monitoring for mitigation.
Motion by: Sandi Godfrey Seconded bv: Sarah Thornbrugh
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
(Steve Cook, Sarah Thornbrugh, Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey)
COC 52 Spoondrift Way, Jill & Nicholas Mavro.
