Marie Stevenson, Gail Wilson, Richard Klein, Kim Landry, Mohamad Fand, Dan <br /> Kupferman, Mohamad Zefzaf, Winnie Johnson- Graham, Kelly Hennessy <br /> Absent: Rolf Brandt, Max Nash, Ryan Nardone, Fernanda Lima, Lillian Lewis, Trish Hill <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chair Stevenson called the meeting of the Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee to <br /> order at 5:OOP.M. <br /> LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT <br /> Today we acknowledge this meeting is being held on ancestral lands of the Wampanoag Tribe, <br /> also known as People of the First Light. We pay respects to their elders, past and present. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES —July 15, 2025 <br /> Mr. Kupferman noted on page three, the specific name of this organization is Indivisible of <br /> Upper Cape Cod. <br /> MOTION: <br /> Mohamad Zefzaf made a motion to approve the meeting minutes of July 15, 2025 <br /> as amended. Seconded by Dan Kupferman.All in favor. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Chuck Augat-At the last meeting, this committee was discussing a group known as <br /> Indivisible, and he would like to point out that they are part of a political movement. He referred <br /> to the student who initiated this discussion, and they explained Indivisible as being a <br /> movement that uplifts people, helping economically, or with deportation issues. Following that <br /> meeting, Mr. Augat went to their website to learn more and printed out their purpose statement. <br /> This is a progressive grass roots organization committed to strengthening American <br /> democracy and advance an agenda through direct action and accountability. It is a democratic <br /> process to resist efforts and undermine political values. They stand united to oppose political <br /> agendas from Donald Trump. This was a resource created by former congressional staff. This <br /> is an activist group, and he is concerned about the possible collaboration here. According to <br /> the state of Massachusetts, the two shall never meet, as political organizations are prohibited <br /> from partnering with cities/towns to promote political agendas.
