Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> seeding and managing shellfish under, around, and beneath the <br /> proposed structure to support future public harvest. Commissioners <br /> agreed that the original motion needed to be amended to incorporate <br /> this condition, ensuring compliance with the Shellfish Program's <br /> recommendations. <br /> There were concerns about cumulative impacts were generally site- <br /> specific and should not automatically apply to the entire Popponesset <br /> Bay area unless a broader moratorium on docks and piers was <br /> adopted.He emphasized that the applicants were following all existing <br /> regulations for a water-dependent use and had already revised their <br /> plans to reduce impacts, including minimizing the number of pilings <br /> and incorporating Department of Marine Fisheries (DMF) <br /> recommendations. <br /> Mr. Gonsalves reiterated that concerns about cumulative impacts <br /> were generally site-specific and should not automatically apply to the <br /> entire Popponesset Bay area unless a broader moratorium on docks <br /> and piers was adopted. He emphasized that the applicants were <br /> following all existing regulations for water-dependent use and had <br /> already revised their plans to reduce impacts, including minimizing <br /> the number of pilings and incorporating Department of Marine <br /> Fisheries (DMF) recommendations <br /> AMENDED MOTION: To allow the Mashpee Shellfish Program to <br /> continue seeding and utilizing the area beneath and around the <br /> proposed dock for future shellfish harvests. <br /> Motion bv: Richard Sahl Seconded bv: Sarah Thornbrugh <br /> Vote: Motion passed. <br /> Aye: Steven Cook, Sarah Thornbrugh, Sandi Godfrey, Richard Sahl <br /> Abstain: Paul Colombo <br /> MOTION: To close an issue for 157 Daniels Island Road with the <br /> following conditions: <br /> • Flow-through decking <br /> • Shellfish mitigation <br /> • Time-of-year restriction for construction to protect winter flounder <br /> • A draft restriction for the boat <br /> • To allow the Mashpee Shellfish Program to continue seeding and <br /> utilizing the area beneath and around the proposed dock for future <br /> shellfish harvest. <br /> Motion by: Richard Sahl Seconded by: Sarah Thornbrugh <br /> 11 <br />
