6

Community Preservation Committee
Minutes
July 1, 2024
Jamie Regan, Acquisition of 475 Nathan Ellis Highway: (continued)
Both Brian Hyde and Lynne Barbee have had interactions and friendship with Mr. Regan.
However, it is perceived there is no conflict of interest in commenting and/or voting on this
project. Mr. Regan is a noted realtor in the Town of Mashpee.
Discussion followed. It was noted there are great attributes when considering this property.
Mary K. Bradbury, Recreation Director is aware of this project and has asked to participate in
any recreational aspect if this project moves forward. There is also similarity with the Sea
Camps in Brewster, another beneficial property where the community has worked together to
determine the most favorable use of the property.
If the CPC was to pursue this endeavor it was recommended the CPC solicit quotes for a 21E and
a home inspection in advance, but not move forward with the services at present.
Motion made by Ms. Waygan to solicit three quotes for a home inspection and a 21E by a
licensed consulting agency.
Motion seconded by Mr. Hyde.
VOTE: 8-0. Unanimous.
Roll Call Vote:
Ms. Russell, yes Mr. Hyde, yes Ms. Waygan, yes Ms. Barbee yes
Mr. Klein, yes Ms. Wyman-Colombo, yes Ms. Godfrey, yes Mr. Schmuhl, yes
Opposed, none
It was noted the deadline for articles to be submitted for the October warrant is July 8, 2024.
Motion made by Ms. Barbee to authorize an appraisal of 475 Nathan Ellis Highway for a
sum not to exceed; $4,000, and submit a placeholder for the October Town Meeting
warrant absent of the funding amount for the Acquisition of 475 Nathan Ellis Highway
project.
Motion seconded by Mr. Klein.
VOTE: 8-0.
