4 <br /> <br />Community Preservation Committee <br />Minutes <br />October 17, 2024 <br />Update on the Acquisition of Pickerel Cove Properties previously approved: <br />A draft Purchase & Sale Agreement has been prepared by Town Counsel and presented to the <br />owners of the Pickerel Cove Properties, a project previously approved. Currently, there has been <br />no communication. However, it was noted the owners are preparing a draft Conservation <br />Restriction (CR) as there is a two-year backlog to obtain the state written document. <br />Application Deadline for Spring Town Meeting: <br />The CPC Application deadline for the May 2025 Town Meeting has been revised to Monday, <br />November 4, 2024. The timeline requirement for the submission of articles for the May warrant <br />is Monday, February 10, 2024. <br />LIAISON REPORTS <br />LeClair Village: The ribbon cutting ceremony was well attended. <br />Affordable Housing: A brief discussion followed regarding the potential to purchase existing <br />property for affordable housing purposes. <br />Applications for May Town Meeting: Applications received to date include; A new war <br />memorial, the moving of the Chopchaque bog-house/barn, and a basketball reconstruction <br />project submitted by the Boys & Girls Club. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />Discussion regarding Gooseberry Island: <br />Motion made by Ms. Waygan to enter into Executive Session at 7:20 p.m. to consider the <br />purchase, lease or value of real property; Gooseberry Island bounded on all sides of <br />Popponesset Bay as shown on Assessors’ Map 100 as Block 6 pursuant to G.L. c. 30A <br />section 21(a)(6) with the Chair having declared that an open meeting regarding this topic <br />may have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the CPC, and to reconvene <br />thereafter. Motion seconded by Mrs. MacDonald. <br />VOTE: 8-0.
