Site work has started
with the next phase of the 40B. This is part of the overall 382-unit comprehensive 40B project
initiated in 2007. There was a large portion completed in 2014, now the project is advancing.
Site work started in July, there will be 11 total buildings, with the exterior fagade materials
varying, looking similar to what is there now. The documents for the construction will wrap up
next month as they are still in the design stage, then the buildings will start going vertical. They
partnered with a different company this time, Northland Residential. The 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom
apartments will be ready by mid to end 2026. Most will be three story buildings, some will be
two. Mass Housing wanted this work separated into two chunks.
Mr. Feronti reiterated Phase 1 B as the 69-unit chunk and 1 C as the 54-unit chunk. He noted
the regulations for 40B can be lengthy as they have to go through the ZBA, then Mass
Housing, and then the agency that issues the final approval.
2
