Ms. Raddatz clarified <br /> that the boring program remains unchanged; the piles replace the previously proposed footings but borings will <br /> still be conducted using a tracked rig. <br /> Paver Path Porosity <br /> Ms. Godfrey asked whether the new paver path would be permeable. <br /> Ms. Raddatz stated that permeable pavers were intended, and Megan Brady of SA Design confirmed they <br /> would indeed be permeable. Ms. Godfrey requested this be explicitly shown on the plans; Ms. Raddatz agreed. <br /> Plan Set Consistency <br /> Chair Cook thanked the team for addressing prior concerns—particularly replacing concrete footings with <br /> helical piles. He observed that the architectural plan set in the Commission packet still displayed traditional <br /> footings. Ms. Raddatz confirmed that the packet contained an outdated version; the full set submitted to <br /> Conservation includes updated cross-sections showing helical piles. <br /> Pile Installation Equipment and Under-Deck Conditions <br /> Chair Cook asked about the installation equipment for the 120 helical piles. Ms. Raddatz stated that a tracked <br /> machine similar in size(or slightly larger) than the boring rig would likely be used, operating from the <br /> demolition area. <br /> He also asked about conditions beneath the new deck. Ms. Raddatz explained that after pile installation, sand <br /> will be backfilled to previous elevation and will remain exposed under the deck, allowing dune processes <br /> windblown sand transport and natural movement—to continue. <br /> Before voting, Mr. McManus recommended that any approval include three years of mitigation monitoring. <br /> Chair Cook agreed and confirmed that the paver path must be clearly labeled as permeable on the final plans. <br /> MOTION: To close an issue at 252 Shore Drive with the following conditions: <br /> 1. Three-year mitigation monitoring; <br /> 2. Permeable pavers reflected on revised plan; and <br /> 3.
