The applicant will not come before the committee in the future asking to extend the docks to the
south east.
Motion seconded by Ron Marchessault. The committee was unanimously in favor.
New Business
Harbormaster Tomaino informed the Committee that he the Mashpee Natural Resource
Department received a grant of$75,000 from the Executive Office of Housing and
Development for the channel dredging of Popponesset Bay next year. In addition, the Little River
/ Great River 10-year comprehensive channel dredging permit is moving forward.
Tim Leedham raised the issue of the rebuilding of the Mashpee Neck Boat Ramp starting in mid-
September. This is the height of hurricane season and in the event a hurricane is forecast for the
area, not having the ramp available to remove boats may be a problem. The only other Town
ramp on Popponesset Bay is in Ockway Bay which could not handle larger boats due to a
shallow bay approach. Harbormaster Tomaino said the rebuilding was a DPW project and that he
was in regular contact (and will share these concerns) with the DPW director.
Meeting Adjourned at 6:25 PM
