IMBO
w Afforda6Ce Housing Committee
16 Great Neck RoadJVorth
Mashyee, M-A 0264.9
Ms. Geoffrion asked who the application was from, it was answered both the Affordable
Housing Committee and Trust.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Lynne Barbee-She stated sometimes there is additional information needed or questions the
CPC may have regarding an application. She also noted they could use that money to fund an
Affordable Housing staff member, as some towns have their own housing person. She noted
there is an online training for Open Meeting Law on Mass.gov. and the Conflict of Interest
training on the Town of Mashpee website. She stated there is already a lot of information on
the town website regarding sewer. There is a page for the Sewer Commission with the
Wastewater Department with new phases and maps. Sea Oak is on Phase I, Ashers Path
senior housing were the first ones connected. However, in order to get the system running you
require a certain amount of volume. The pipes are in at Sea Oaks, each building has its own
septic so each building connects to the main line. She also added that the Trust is a non-profit,
to her understanding. The one in Falmouth was created before the law changed in MA, our
Trust is newer and is already non-profit, she encouraged Mr. Sparkes to speak with the Town
Planner about that. The CPC is meeting on the third Tuesday, and the Housing Authority meets
on the second Thursday at Ashers Path community room at 5:30PM. Lastly, there are two
vacancies on the Sewer Commission, representation is broken down by precincts.
Mr. Sparkes added other towns make progress because they have a dedicated staff person.
There is a need, but we would have to define the hours, full or part time, who they report to,
and how their salary works, would that be an annual transfer to the town budget for salary and
benefits?
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION:
Ms. Geoffrion made a motion to adjourn the meeting of the Affordable Housing
Committee at 7:42PM. Seconded by Mr. Tutor. All in favor.
Respectfully Sub fitted,
Christine M. Mac nald
Board Secretary
4
