The existing crossing is a 12-inch corrugated metal pipe that failed approximately one year ago; the <br /> applicant previously received authorization for a temporary administrative repair while designing a permanent <br /> solution. Wetland resource areas identified at the site included Land Under Waterways, BVW, Riverfront Area <br /> with associated Inland Bank, and Land Subject to Coastal Storm Flowage. No Estimated or Priority Habitat is <br /> mapped in the project area. <br /> The proposed project replaces the pipe with a precast concrete box culvert approximately 10 feet wide by <br /> 5 feet high by 12 feet long, with the structure embedded two feet into the streambed to create a natural stream <br /> bottom within the culvert consistent with stream-crossing performance standards.
