of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
16 Great Neck Road NOYth
Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649
Ms. Faulkner asked for a simple map, showing these sites and the number of units to see how
much development there is across Mashpee.
Ms. Waygan asked about the retrofit at the rotary, Mr. Milbury would like to omit these
documents as none of the proposals are great.
She noted Rt.151 is dangerous with no divider, they could have an educational campaign on
Rt. 151 and rotaries. Taking a left off Meetinghouse Rd. is dangerous. The timing at the light at
Town Hall should be studied. Lights should be studied town wide. Mashpee is a traffic friendly
driving community.
They are missing proposed developments, she would like a map added. One of the challenges
is the remaining development in town and how it integrates with current traffic patterns.
Under concerns, those dangerous intersections should be listed in challenges and
opportunities. Residents and town staff identified the following intersections as priorities for
needing review and improvements: Mashpee Rotary, Rt. 130. And Great Neck Rd. North, Jobs
Fishing Rd. and Donnas Lane, Rt. 28 and Meetinghouse Road, Shellback Way and Great
Neck Road, and Old Barnstable Rd and Rt. 28.
Sustainability
Policies
-S3-Provide an incentive to use sustainable lawn practices. There is a Fertilizer Bylaw
regulated through the BOH. This relates to stores in town and products they can sell as part of
the nitrogen regulations. An action step would be to enforce current nitrogen management
regulations with respect to landscaping.
-S4-Confirm and maintain MVP certification from the state
Actions
-S1-Add the words, ensure maintenance of certification in partnership with the Tribe and
appropriate entities.
-S9- Revise Raise and Replace Zoning Bylaw to promote sustainability, through tools like
reasonable structural limits on non-conforming lots.
-S6- Develop and implement a Climate Resilience Plan for low carbon emissions.
-S21- Implement requirement that all town sponsored projects use best sustainable practices
and best technology for low carbon footprint
4
