Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
NOI 139 Summersea Road, Eric Goldman. Proposed expansion of the floating dock on the
property. (Representative: Eric R. & Jackie L. Goldman) 43-
3399
The applicant's representative did not appear in person or on Zoom for the scheduled hearing, despite
previously indicating they would attend remotely. Staff noted that the DEP file number was issued late in the day,
which may have caused confusion as to whether the hearing was proceeding.
Because the applicant was not present, the Commission determined that the matter must be continued by
necessity. Conservation staff advised that, under the bylaw, a continuance by necessity must be scheduled for the next
available hearing date, unless the applicant expressly agrees to a later date. As such, the matter was continued to
February 19, 2026. Commissioners also discussed that the application materials currently on file were insufficiently
detailed, noting that the plans only depict a proposed 30-foot by 12-foot float extension(approximately 200 square
feet)without construction details. Missing information includes attachment methods, structural details, identification
markings, and how the float would be secured during storm events. While no pilings are proposed, members raised
questions about float stops and stability, particularly given shallow conditions in the area.
Staff confirmed they would reach out to the applicant to request additional information and advise them of the
Commission's concerns so they can return better prepared for the continued hearing. Commissioners also agreed to
email any specific questions or comments to conservation staff for consolidation and forwarding to the applicant in
advance of the February 19 meeting.
MOTION: To continue 139 Summersea Road to February 19, 2026.
Motion by: Richard Sahl Seconded by: Sandi Godfrey
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
(Steve Cook, Sarah Thornbrugh, Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey, Seana Pitt,Richard Sahl)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOTION: To take a two minute recess.
Motion by: Richard Sahl Seconded by: Sandi Godfrey
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
(Steve Cook, Sarah Thornbrugh, Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey, Seana Pitt,Richard Sahl)
MOTION: To reconvene Public Hearing.
Motion by: Sandi Godfrey Seconded by: Richard Sahl
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
(Steve Cook, Sarah Thornbrugh, Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey, Seana Pitt,Richard Sahl)
9
