Town of Mashpee Conservation Commission
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
had been intended to provide clearance for public access at the mean low water line below the salt marsh, and
while the applicant believed the revised design would still comply, this would need to be confirmed upon review
of the updated plans.
The Commissioner stated they would review the DMF letter and the revised plans further. The request for
continuance was then considered to allow the applicant time to prepare the updated design.
MOTION: To continue the hearing for 399 Monomoscoy Road to March 19, 2026.
Motion by: Sandi Godfrey Seconded bv: Richard Sahl
Vote: Motion passed.
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
(Steve Cook,Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey, Seana Pitt,Richard Sahl)
NOI 139 Summersea Road, Eric R. & Jackie L. Goldman. Proposed expansion of the floating dock
On the property. (Representative: Eric Goldman) (cont. 2.05) 43-
3399
The Commission reviewed the applicant's request to expand an existing 10 ft. by 16 ft. floating dock to
accommodate a new 24-foot boat. The proposal would add a 30.3-inch 12-foot extension (approximately 30 sq.
ft.), creating an L-shaped float while remaining under the 200 sq. ft. limit. The extension would be assembled on
land and installed by hand and would be connected to the existing float with heavy-duty galvanized connectors,
allowing the dock to rise and fall with the tide.
Commissioners raised concerns regarding shallow water depths in the area, noting the potential for the dock or
boat to bottom out and impact the benthic layer, and suggested float stops may be necessary. Members also noted
the lack of detailed construction plans showing how the new float would connect to the existing structure.
Additional information was requested to meet Regulation 3 requirements, including boat specifications, depth
sounding around the dock, and detailed plans for both floats and their connection. Commissioners also suggested
the applicant consider alternative dock configurations to better accommodate the boat and avoid shallow areas.
Staff recommended the applicant coordinate with Falmouth Engineering and Beacon Marine and consult with
Commission agents to prepare the requested plans and information before returning to the Commission.
MOTION: To continue 139 Summersea to April 2, 2026.
Motion by: Sandi Godfrey Seconded by: Richard Sahl
Vote: Motion passed by unanimous vote.
(Steve Cook Paul Colombo, Sandi Godfrey,Richard Sahl, Seana Pitt)
4
