Neither nomination carried. Selectman Weeden suggested the board should utilize the 1-5 ranking sheets to identify the most effective candidate, reference policy 00 1- Chair Wyman-Colombo clarified that the policy did not apply to this interview process. Selectman Weeden expressed support for Barbee, citing her consistent involvement, advocacy background, and work on the Local Comprehensive Plan, stating she has demonstrated fairness and the ability to collaborate. Selectman Cotton acknowledged Barbee's experience but noted that Cucinotta's nervousness should not be held against him and that his personal connection to the Housing Authority's impact was meaningful. Housing Authority Chair Jill Allen raised concerns about Barbee's multiple commitments but recognized her qualifications,while also noting the short-terrn nature of the appointment until the May election. Selectwoman Kelley- Wilson stated that both candidates were passionate and qualified, highlighting Barbee's experience and attendance. Richard Klein commented that many members successfully serve on multiple boards. Chair Wyman-Colombo observed that one candidate brought extensive experience and the other a new perspective. Selectman Cotton noted that a tie vote would leave the seat vacant until May. Revote: Lynee Barbee received 6-Ayes,2-Nays. Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo - YES, Selectman Weeden -YES, Selectman Cotton -YES, Selectman Richardson - YES, Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson—YES, Mashpee Housing Authority Jill Allen— NO,Mary LeClair—NO, Richard Klein—YES. Motion carried. Following the vote, Selectman Cotton stated that these decisions are never easy and acknowledged the number of vacancies on to boards and committees. Selectman Cotton encouraged Michael Cucinotta to consider applying for another committee position and thanked the for their willingness to serve. Selectman Richardson also encouraged Michael Cucinotta to reach out to discuss other opportunities to serve on town boards or committees. 2. Adjournment: Selectman Weeden moved to adjourn the joint meeting with the Mashpee Housing Authority, seconded by Selectman Richardson. Motion carried. 8- Ayes, 0-Nays.
