There are also
concerns from the Fire Department, and Mark Dibb with Cape and Islands Engineering met
with the Department since the last Public Hearing.
Mr. Dibb received a lot of feedback from the Board last Public Hearing. He met in person with
the Mashpee Fire Department, along with the Town Planner. Some revisions have been made
to the plan.
- No changes made to the Existing Conditions pages.
- The overall Site Plan now shows site and surrounding areas (C-102).
- Based on Board feedback and FD, the access drive for the property has been altered to be
by the bank parcel. It will share the curb cut with the bank but expanded slightly to provide
proper turning radius for fire engines and delivery trucks. This expansion is on the westerly
side of the road. With enhanced site lines it will be easier to navigate through.
- Pedestrian access is provided with connection to the bank if desired, still working out
details.
- Ms. Waygan noted on Shellback, the sidewalk ends into a crosswalk. The crosswalk exists;
the ramps are not there so they are proposing ADA compliance.
- Mr. Dibb noted If the hardware store continues to poorly manage their loading dock, they
will be out of the way of ongoing traffic.
- All signage and striping of the crosswalk will be brought up to code.
- Delivery trucks will turn right into the site, pull around the building, and they will exit onto
Shellback Way.
- Four parking spaces were removed to safely allow a fire truck to navigate the parking lot.
2
