Circulation
Considering the storm outages, the stats remained high for the month of
February.
Building and Grounds
The DPW did a great job plowing everything after the storm. The building lost
power from Monday-Thursday, and the building remained closed, as most of
town was without power. Power came back late Wednesday night.
The Library Director is getting quotes for new self-checkout devices, as the
current ones require updating.
Event Room
The Event Room projector is still not operating. A backup projector can be used
for now. Atechnicianfrom the original vendorassessed the current projector and
will create a quote to consider replacing the current projector rather than
repairing it. The Library Director estimated that the cost for a new projectorwould
be close to $10,000 for the entire project.
Budget
The Library Director presented the Library budget to Town Officials. Departments
are submitting budgets to maintain existing service levels. The Town will be
seeking approval to seek an override in light of upcoming wastewater/sewer
project, which is an essential need of the town, as well as the new Police Station.
If the override passes, the budget will be funded as submitted. If the override
does not pass, the secondary budget will be in effect with restrictions, and each
Departmentwill have reductions by a certain percentage. The secondary budget
cut for the library would be $13,942, which would have an impact, but is
manageable.
2
