The Pledge of Allegiance was recited, followed by a moment of silence.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES — February 03, 2026
Postponed until next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Review and Update AHC Mission Statement
Mr. Sparkes wanted to discuss and gather comments from Committee members. He would like
to submit a draft to the working group that will spend time specifically with the Mission
Statement, rather than fitting it into a meeting, similar to how they did the HPP.
Ms. Geoffrion suggested eliminating a lot of the wording, not the substance. The mission of this
Committee is to advance housing opportunities in support of Mashpee and it's residents. She
thinks it would be best to simplify the entire excerpt. The HPP and LCP cover a lot. She would
also suggest deleting the town, regional, and state entities, because who else are we working
with?
Mr. Sparkes noted when the town reaches the 10% affordable goal, we would need to maintain
that standing.
Ms. Muller likes the point of keeping it short, and ultimately, meeting the needs of present and
future residents. It now would read, to advance housing opportunities to the town of Mashpee
1
