Select Board
January 26, 2026
Minutes
changes were made to the stormwater components not shown on the plan, and the
bioretention area could not be altered without losing parking spaces.
Selectman Weeden discussed alternative locations for the portable toilets, including areas
near the dumpster pad or recreation shed, with consideration given to safety, maintenance
access, and avoiding impacts to picnic areas. Laurent noted potential limitations due to
access but agreed to review potential placement on the north side. Concerns were also
discussed regarding parking space width and vehicle door clearance; however,
adjustments were determined not to be feasible without reducing parking capacity.
The Board expressed general agreement that the revised layout adequately addresses prior
concerns.
Motion made by Selectman Richardson to approve the proposed stormwater
improvements for Attaquin Park, with the condition that the portable toilets be
relocated as discussed.
Motion seconded by Selectman Weeden.
Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton.
Vote: 5-0 Unanimous
Roll Call Vote
Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo-yes
Selectman Weeden-yes
Selectman Cotton-yes
Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson-yes
Selectman Richardson- yes
Review of Memorandum from Environmental Oversight Committee, dated
December 15, 2025, RE: Request for Additional Information and
Recommended Next Step in River Restoration Review Process
The Select Board reviewed a memorandum from the Environmental Oversight Committee
(EOC), an advisory committee to the Town of Mashpee focused on environmental issues
and due diligence related to projects that may affect Town resources. The memorandum
formally requested additional information regarding how the position and alignment of the
river were determined in the proposal and renderings prepared by Tighe & Bond,
specifically referencing the sources relied upon and whether any subsurface investigations
were conducted to identify the original or historic alignment of the river.
3
