<br />Select Board <br />March 9,2026 <br />Minutes <br /> <br />Motion made by Selectman Richardson to reappoint Michaela Wyman-Colombo to the <br />Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Management Fund. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br />Vote: 5-0 Unanimous <br />Roll Call Vote <br />Selectwoman Wyman-Colombo-yes <br />Selectman Weeden-yes <br />Selectman Cotton-yes <br />Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson-yes <br />Selectman Richardson- yes <br />Review of Draft #2 of May 2026 Special & Annual Town Meeting Warrants <br />Article 24-HVAC Upgrades at Quashnet Intermediate School <br />This article seeks authorization for the Treasurer, with Select Board approval, to borrow up <br />to $11,500,000 to fund HVAC upgrades at Quashnet Intermediate School, including all <br />related and incidental costs. Catherine Laurent, DPW Director, presented the proposal, <br />which would install full air conditioning in the school. <br /> Discussion focused on the balance between limited summer use of the building and the <br />need to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for students and sta?. <br /> It was noted that the transition to full HVAC triggered additional requirements, including <br />electrical system upgrades and expanded fire suppression. <br />Some Select Board members expressed concern about the project’s cost and timing given <br />current financial constraints, while others supported the investment for health and safety <br />7 <br /> <br /> <br />
