The project has been included in the Capital Improvement Plan since FY24, <br />though its scope has increased. <br />Article 25 – Senior Center HVAC Replacement <br />A request for $500,000 to replace the approximately 20-year-old HVAC system at the Senior <br />Center. The current system results in uneven temperatures throughout the building. <br />Discussion included potential e?iciencies, contractor considerations, and opportunities <br />for rebates or incentives through programs such as Cape Light Compact and National Grid. <br />Article 4 – Wastewater Phase 3 <br />Jared Meader, Wastewater Superintendent, presented a request for $12 million to fund <br />Phase 3 of the wastewater project, which is proposed to be expanded to maximize capacity <br />in the Waquoit area. The treatment facility would be located on a portion of town-owned <br />land and function as a water resource recovery facility. Concerns were raised regarding <br />overall cost, future funding needs and potential legal challenges; the Town Manager <br />confirmed no known legal issues at this time. <br />Article 5 – Route 151 Wastewater Infrastructure <br />This article proposes installing wastewater piping under Route 151 to allow for future <br />system connections. Discussion included whether this work could have been completed <br />during prior road construction, with the Town Manager noting past discussions and <br />di?ering guidance at that time. <br />Article 6 – Wastewater Department Position <br />A proposal to create a new full-time position to support the operational and financial <br />demands of the wastewater system.
