Select Board
March 16,2026
Minutes

Barry Blake (709 Great Neck Road South, abutter to the Amos House) spoke in favor of
preserving the Amos House as a historic structure but raised concerns about the proposal.
He noted that construction cost estimates have not undergone independent review and
referenced the Finance Committee’s prior vote against the project. Based on these
concerns, he recommended voting against the proposal.
Kathy Lewis (44 Juniper Drive) spoke in support of Article 24, which relates to fire
suppression improvements at a school facility. She explained that the building is used year-
round for educational programs and community events, and that some areas currently lack
fire suppression systems. She emphasized the importance of ensuring safety and
encouraged keeping the article on the warrant despite the town’s financial constraints.
Susan Dangle spoke in support of Article 4, emphasizing the importance of continuing
wastewater planning e?orts. She noted that voters have consistently supported clean
water initiatives and expressed concern that delaying or changing course could undermine
prior commitments. She encouraged moving forward with e?orts to secure funding and
continue progress.
Tim Martin (780 Russell Road) raised concerns about Article 4, stating that the proposal
lacks clarity regarding priorities and outcomes. He highlighted opportunities for innovative
approaches, particularly for properties that may not be easily served by traditional sewer
systems.
Meredith Harris (531 Main Street) spoke in support of Article 4, expressing concern about
any hesitation to proceed. She noted that the Sewer Commission voted unanimously in
favor of the project and warned that delays could result in lost momentum and increased
costs.
