Submitted by the Department of Public Works Explanation: This article will use funds collected from the sale of cemetery plots to expand Great Neck Woods Cemetery. The existing approximately 4.5 acre developed portion of the property is nearing capacity. Construction of several new sections within the 17-acre property is proposed. The Select Board recommends approval of Article 6 by a vote of 5-0 The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 6 by a vote of 7-0 Motion made by Select Board Member Weeden Motion: I move the Town vote to approve Article 6 as printed in the warrant, with the exception of the phrase “or take any other action relating thereto.” Motion passes 361 to 41 at 7:41PM Article 7 To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer pursuant to the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, §6 to reserve from the Community Preservation Fund Budget for Appropriation Reserve, the following amounts: $1,144 10% Open Space/Recreation Purposes $1,144 10% Historic Purposes $1,144 10% Affordable Housing Purposes or take any other action relating thereto. Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee Explanation: This is a “cleanup” article to meet the requirement of reserving funds from the CPA FY 2026 Trust Fund distribution. The amount of the FY 2026 state reimbursement received by the Town of Mashpee was higher than the initial estimate. The CPC is required to set aside 10% of those excess funds and deposit them into each of the CPA 10% reserves. Funding shall derive from the Community Preservation Budgeted for Appropriation Reserve. The Community Preservation Committee recommends approval of Article 7 by a vote of 8-0.
