<br />Article 11 <br /> <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation Fund <br />Budget for Affordable Housing Reserve, in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter <br />44B, §5, the sum of $500,000 for the purpose of providing funding to the Mashpee Affordable <br />Housing Trust, including all necessary costs and expenses related thereto, as recommended by the <br />Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> <br />Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee <br /> <br />Explanation: The goal of the project is to ensure the Affordable Housing Trust has sufficient <br />funds to respond to opportunities to increase Mashpee’s affordable housing inventory. This project <br />is consistent with Mashpee’s Housing Production Plan goal to set aside CPA funds so that the <br />Affordable Housing Trust can act efficiently. The Trust will provide semi-annual progress and <br />accounting reports to the CPC. <br /> <br />The Community Preservation Committee recommends approval of Article 11 by a vote of 8-0. <br /> <br />The Select Board recommends approval of Article 11 by a vote of 5-0 <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 11 by a vote of 6-0 <br /> <br />Motion made by Select Board Member Weeden <br /> <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to approve Article 11 as printed in the warrant, with the <br />exception of the phrase “or take any other action relating thereto.” <br /> <br />Motion passes 341 to 58 at 7:46PM <br /> <br /> <br />Article 12 <br /> <br />To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation Fund <br />Budget for Appropriation Reserve, in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, §5, <br />the sum of $100,000 for the purpose of funding the First Pentecostal Church’s exterior historic <br />renovation project at 258 Main Street, Mashpee, MA, including all necessary costs and expenses <br />related thereto, as recommended by the Community Preservation Committee, or take any other <br />action relating thereto. <br /> <br />Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee <br /> <br />Explanation: The goal of the project is to renovate and repair this historic structure located at 258 <br />Main Street, Mashpee. The property is in the Mashpee Historic District and has been deemed <br />historically significant by the Mashpee Historical Commission. It has served for decades as a <br />center of worship, a cornerstone of community life and a steadfast part of the Town’s history. A <br /> <br />
