<br />Motion made by Select Board Member Richardson <br /> <br />Motion: I move the Town vote to authorize the Treasurer, with the approval of the Select Board, <br />to borrow the sum of $11,500,000 pursuant to G.L. c.44, §§7 or 8 or any other enabling authority, <br />and issue bonds and notes of the Town therefor, and that said sum is appropriated for purposes <br />of paying costs of HVAC upgrades at the Quashnet Intermediate School, including all other costs <br />incidental and related thereto, as recommended by the Capital Improvement Program <br />Committee; and the Select Board is authorized to take any other action necessary or convenient <br />to carry out the project; provided, however, that this vote shall be expressly subject to and <br />contingent upon approval by the voters of the Town of a ballot question to exclude from the <br />limitations of Proposition 2 1/2, so-called, G.L. c.59, §21C, the amounts required to pay the <br />principal and interest on any bonds, notes or certificates of indebtedness issued hereunder. <br /> <br />Motion passes 272 to 53 at 9:00PM <br /> <br /> <br />Article 25 <br /> <br />To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Treasurer, upon the approval of the Select Board, to <br />borrow the sum of $500,000, at one time or from time to time, under and pursuant to Chapter 44 <br />Sections 7 or 8 of the General Laws, or any other enabling authority, and to appropriate said sum for <br />purposes of paying the costs of replacing the HVAC system at the Mashpee Senior Center, including <br />all other costs incidental and related thereto, as recommended by the Capital Improvement Program <br />Committee, provided, however, that any borrowing authorized hereunder shall be expressly subject to <br />and contingent upon approval by the voters of the Town of a ballot question to exclude from the <br />limitations of Proposition 2 1/2, so-called, G.L. c.59, §21C, the amounts required to pay the principal <br />and interest on any bonds, notes or certificates of indebtedness issued hereunder; or take any other <br />action relating thereto. <br />Submitted by the Select Board <br /> <br />Explanation: This article would appropriate funds and authorize the borrowing thereof, contingent <br />upon the successful passage of a debt exclusion ballot question, for replacing the HVAC system at the <br />Mashpee Senior Center, and costs/expenses incidental and related thereto.
