Marie Stevenson, Mohamad Zefzaf, Dan Kupferman, Gail Wilson, Ryan Nardone, <br /> Guests: Nawal Macedo, Amy Peters, Daphne Burt— Braver Angels, Lauren Surbey—The <br /> Mashpee Enterprise <br /> Absent: Winnie Johnson-Graham, Lillian Lewis, Fernanda Lima, Kim Landry, Mohamad Fand, <br /> Richard Klein, Max Nash, Trish Hill <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chair Stevenson called the meeting of the Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee to <br /> order at 5:OOP.M. <br /> LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT <br /> Today we acknowledge this meeting is being held on ancestral lands of the Wampanoag Tribe, <br /> also known as People of the First Light. We pay respects to their elders, past and present. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES -January 20, 2026 <br /> Approval tabled until next meeting. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Column <br /> Matilda Ligon wrote a wonderful article on the topic of race, from the perspective of an elderly <br /> black woman and her experiences, she was very honored to write for the Committee's <br /> sponsored column. Mr. Kupferman agreed, the article was great. Max Nash will write the next <br /> column on the issue of class. The Chairwould like to find a Veteran to write a column for April, <br /> and she will reach out to her contacts at Heroes in Transition. <br /> Brochure Dispersal <br /> Mohamad Zefzaf dropped brochures off at the Library and Tribal Government Center. Mr. Klein <br /> dropped brochures off at Waquoit Church, Mashpee Post Office and Town Hall. The Chair <br /> dropped brochures off at the Senior Center, Windchime, and Southport.
