Select Board
April 27,2026
Minutes

that additional information will be accessible on Mashpee TV’s YouTube channel the
following morning.
TOWN MANAGER UPDATES
The Route 151 Phase 2 Corridor Improvement project was discussed. MassDOT typically
restricts construction work during the busy summer season from Memorial Day through
Labor Day.
Lawrence-Lynch requested approval to continue limited work through June 19, including
temporary tra?ic changes such as one-way detours if needed. The work is intended to
support the project schedule while maintaining access for summer tra?ic and businesses.
The request includes continued work related to the planned multi-use path improvements.
It was noted that most work would occur o? the roadway and is not expected to impact
tra?ic. The DPW Director and Police Chief reviewed the request and had no objections.
Collins requested additional information from the DPW Director to be included on a future
agenda.
Selectman Weeden asked whether there would be any cost savings associated with
extending or adjusting the work schedule, noting that mobilization costs for equipment can
be significant. He stated that reducing the need for remobilization could result in savings
for the project.
Town Manager Rodney Collins informed the Select Board that the Town Planner requested
comments from the Select Board on the 2026 Local Comprehensive Plan. A red-lined
version of the plan is available for review on the Planning Department page of the Town
website.
It was also noted that the Annual Friendship Festival will take place on June 14.

15
