FINCOM-Regular Session
March 12,2026

debt position and capacity were reviewed; with reassurance that current planning remains
sustainable.

Resident Michaela Wyman-Colombo of 35 Meadow Brook Road spoke in support of the
proposed override, acknowledging that while tax increases are unpopular, they are
necessary to support the town’s most vulnerable residents. She noted that o?icials have
worked hard to avoid this outcome and emphasized the broader context of reduced state
aid and limits on revenue growth under Proposition 2½, which do not account for inflation.
She explained that municipal costs continue to rise due to cost-of-living adjustments and
standardized teacher salary structures across Massachusetts. She concluded that, despite
concerns, she believes there are no viable alternatives and supports the override.
Motion made by Greg McKelvey to close the public hearing.
Motion seconded by Darlene Furbush.
Vote:6-0
Motion passed by unanimous vote.
COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE
Communication from Select Board Liaison, if any
Communication from School Committee Liaison, if any
OLD BUSINESS
NEW BUSINESS
1.
