FINCOM-Regular Session
March 12,2026

Updates were also provided on several warrant articles, including technical
zoning updates, infrastructure funding, and potential withdrawal or
relocation of certain items between the special and annual warrants.
Significant discussion focused on the proposed wastewater project in the
Waquoit area. Jared Meader, Wastewater Superintendent, emphasized
regulatory deadlines and environmental requirements, noting that delays
could result in increased costs and potential penalties. It was also noted
that delaying the project could significantly increase costs due to inflation
and regulatory requirements.
Staffing needs within the wastewater department were discussed, with
officials explaining that current staff are managing increasing workloads. A
new position is being proposed to support financial tracking, billing
oversight, and operational coordination.
Overall, the committee acknowledged the financial and operational
challenges ahead but noted that planning efforts are focused on long-term
sustainability, particularly with respect to infrastructure and environmental
compliance.

2. Town Manager updates on other items
3. Review of Request for Reserve Fund Transfer for Recovery of Vehicle in
Waterways
A request was made to transfer $4,590 to cover the cost of recovering a
vehicle from the waterways.
Town Manager Rodney Collins explained that a stolen car was discovered at
the landing and had to be removed from the water, requiring towing services.
The town is obligated to pay this bill in full.
The Finance Committee was assured that the town will explore the
possibility of insurance reimbursement. If reimbursement is received, the
funds will be returned accordingly.
Motion made by Greg McKelvey to approve the Request for Reserve Fund Transfer for
Recovery of Vehicle in Waterways.
Motion seconded by Darlene Furbush.
Vote:6-0
4
