Children's Room <br /> The quote for the new desk in the Children's Room was presented. The desk <br /> will have two workstations that have the capability to change from sitting to <br /> standing,with storage cabinets in the back, a book drop in front, and each unit <br /> is modular and on wheels. The DPW will coordinate for the electrical wiring <br /> once the desk has arrived. The Friends of the Library will provide the funding for <br /> the project. <br /> MOTION: <br /> Ann Macdonald made a motion to approve the expense of $39,000 <br /> for the Children's Room desk. Seconded by Kate Milde. All the computers designated for use by <br /> the public will be impacted by this change. The Library Director is working with <br /> the IT Department for this transition. <br /> The Children's Room, the Young Adult Room and the Adult Services <br /> department will each be outfitted with appropriate equiptment for the intended <br /> audience. The Library Director is researching early literacy stations for the <br /> Children's Room and provided pictures and pricing. <br /> Beth Geatrakas asked about a children's interface for searching the CLAMS <br /> catalog, as the previous ILS did have that ability. Aspen is the new discovery <br /> platform, and CLAMS has not offered a separate Children's catalog powered by <br /> Aspen. The Library Director will look into it to see if that option exists. <br /> 2 <br />
