of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
c
16 Great Neck Road NOYth
.wlashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
to the rotary. Their increase in volume would contribute 2-3% during peak times. They don't
feel that an additional analysis would change any of those conclusions that were previously
reached. With infinite money they could do analysis wherever. They are trying to figure out
project impacts, and it is not going to be the rotary. That will be solved when MassDOT
addresses the rotary.
Ms. Waygan wanted to reiterate that sentence from Bowman's report. "This proposed project
is projected to increase the traffic volumes within the Mashpee Rotary by approximately 2-3%
in each of the peak hours studied, during both the average and peak summer traffic
conditions".
Ms. Waygan asked about other analysis performed with intersections.
Mr. Adams confirmed that is what their report reads. He stated they previously completed
traffic analysis on several intersections where comments and discussion has happened.
Everything right now is focused on the Shellback Way and Route 28 corridor through the
intersection heading towards Falmouth, coming from the Mashpee Rotary.
Mr. Lucas noted the original comment 17 was related to queuing. The response provided on
March 20t" showed updated queuing and analysis for several intersections. When T&B was
reviewing that material, they didn't include the rotary. T&B wanted the updated LOS
summaries. In conclusion, this summary is factually accurate, it shows the rotary has
problems today and this site generates some additional traffic, but it's not a tipping point. The
rotary will be bad until MassDOT does something about it. He verified the 2-3% and this is all
accurate.
Mr. Tobin asked for clarity if the 2-3% does or does not include the additional trip generation
data.
Both Mr. Lucas and Mr. Adams confirmed the number is with the updated trip generated data.
Ms. Waygan moved on to pedestrian and bicycle accommodation.
Mr. Adams stated this focused on the location of a proposed bus stop which was originally
located on site. To summarize the T&B comment, they defer to the Town of Mashpee CCRTA
and MassDOT to coordinate for the bus stop location. They agree with that. Should this
project move forward with approval, they have a whole process with MassDOT ahead of them
and getting the Town involved with MassDOT conversations. They will have some control to
help relocate the bus stop to serve the greater need for Mashpee.
Mr. Lucas reiterated that conversations resulted in the bus stop moving off site and onto
Route 28, which they stand by.
12
