Ms. Waygan <br /> would like to talk about that when they get to camouflage. <br /> Keith Vellante, radio frequency engineer, stated Verizon came and told them there were issues <br /> with the network, and this service needs to be provided. The report describes the need for the <br /> Verizon network in and around Mashpee. The coverage maps attached show the Verizon site <br /> locations. There is a monopole by Planet Fitness and one near Industrial Drive on the way to <br /> Falmouth, and one by the Cape Cod Church on Rt. 151. They have licenses in multiple <br /> frequency bands, but to keep up with cellular capacity and demand, they need more coverage. <br /> The range of coverage in lower frequences covers larger areas, higher frequency bands <br /> require more capacity. Areas requiring higher frequency are smaller. At 700MHz there is a <br /> robust layer and the largest area, the 2100MHz band supports additional capacity but the <br /> coverage range isn't as good. <br /> Ms. Waygan asked what consumer product the 700MHz frequency going out was used for. <br /> It was answered that LTE 4G is closer to the site, the network direct to higher frequency, and <br /> they work together for more capacity closer to the site. <br /> Mr. Balzarini asked if other towers boosted one another, like the one in the industrial park, for <br /> example. <br /> Mr. Vellante answered the benefit at the location is the key factor, it doesn't boost, if that site is <br /> reaching too far or there is too much usage in the service area, it allows that sector to relax <br /> and that new site will serve the Commons and drivers. <br /> Mr. Balzarini stated near New Seabury in the summer time the service is bad, the cell tower <br /> would be helpful on Red Brook Road, but it didn't help. <br /> 3 <br />
