We now come to realize, aside from what <br /> has been talked about, the Clam Man, Kohinoor the new Indian restaurant, Rock Wood Fired <br /> Pizza, and Chipotle are opening soon. We have 150+ town houses with only one entrance <br /> egress. Mashpee Commons started their build of new apartments on Jobs Fishing Road that <br /> will eventually become 100. New Seabury has built all new townhouses. Her concern is not <br /> about the rotary or traffic on Route 28, but living in Shellback Way, how can we possibly <br /> condense everything to one entryway. There is a lot more to be considered. She loves Trader <br /> Joes but she doesn't agree with the Falmouth woman saying she doesn't want to go to <br /> Hyannis. Maybe Trader Joes could be in another location, up on Rt. 151, or in Falmouth. The <br /> Falmouth people want the Trader Joes. She is so totally against this project in this location, but <br /> not against this store coming to the Upper Cape. She loves living in Mashpee and Deer <br /> Crossing. A medical facility would be more appropriate here. <br /> Joe Stout- He thanked the Board for their work on this. He lives in Deer Crossing. He thanked <br /> the applicant for trying. Ever since the access on Jobs Fishing was removed, everything has <br /> been tied into knots to make traffic work here. You have to believe your own eyes sometimes. <br /> Trying to fit three pounds of sand into a two-pound bag won't work. This is a private road with <br /> access points, there is no way an issue will not be caused. He urges the Board to believe what <br /> is seen, not what is projected. He and his wife oppose the project, although not easy. <br /> Brett Mitchell- He is not a traffic engineer, or expert, but he is incredibly active. He walks <br /> multiple times a day, usually the bike path to Mashpee Commons and to Roche Bros. That is <br /> already very dangerous. We have crosswalks and lights and it is dangerous. There are no <br /> mitigation efforts that concern that. People leaving Marshalls turn right on red, if you're at the <br /> crosswalk, they don't look to see if anyone is there. Every time, he has to be defensive and has <br /> to put his hand up to get people to stop. He also wanted to clarify from his email about the tree <br /> limbs, when he was walking to Roche Bros, someone almost hit him. Since that storm, limbs <br /> literally hang off trees in front of Rockland Trust, before and after the entrance. They have been <br /> there for 3.5 months. Nobody, not Rockland Trust, not MassDOT, or Mashpee DPW has come. <br /> Nobody takes ownership of Shellback Way and nobody ever has. Who will come now? He is <br /> opposed and always has been since they pulled the first application. <br /> Cynthia Jalbert- She signed the petition and she is supportive of this project. The developer <br /> said they took no credit for traffic that may be diverting going to Hyannis. People will come here <br /> from Falmouth to shop. Will they come on Saturday in the summer, most likely not. They will <br /> avoid the rotary like most of us do. There is not a rotary on Cape that isn't busier or has more <br /> accidents in the summer. We cannot hold it against the applicant. She noted Board member <br /> 14 <br />
