<br />Select Board <br />Minutes <br />June 1,2026 <br /> <br />The Select Board reviewed a draft letter of support for a Community One Stop for Growth <br />HousingWorks application presented by Town Planner Brian Tobin. <br />Tobin explained that the application seeks funding for a town-wide tra?ic study, with a <br />focus on the Route 28 corridor, Shellback Way, and Charleston Road, as well as a potential <br />second phase near Mashpee Commons. He noted that letters of support had been <br />received from the Planning Board, Mashpee Commons, and MassDOT. <br />In response to a question regarding funding, Tobin stated that the Town is applying for a <br />$500,000 grant and would provide updates as the process moves forward. <br />Motion made by Selectman Weeden to support the Draft Letter presented by Town <br />Planner, Brian Tobin. <br />Motion seconded by Selectwoman Kelley-Wilson. <br />Tobin stated that the study would incorporate existing approved developments as well as <br />pending projects and could take one to two years to complete, with implementation <br />anticipated around 2028. <br />Board members discussed how the study could a?ect projects currently under review and <br />future mitigation requirements. <br /> Tobin explained that the study would not directly impact permitting decisions currently <br />before reviewing boards but would provide valuable data for future planning and <br />transportation improvements.
