<br /> <br />MWLMC <br />April 28,2026 <br /> <br />PRESENT MEMBERS <br />Paul Bibo-Chair <br />Donald MacDonald <br />Deborah McManus <br />Barbara Nichols <br />Allison Berhardt <br />Lashelle Mathis-Board Secretary <br />Meeting called to order in open session by Chair Paul Bibo at Mashpee Town Hall, 16 Great <br />Neck North, Mashpee, Ma at 7:00 pm. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />MINUTES <br />Motion made by Donald MacDonald to approve the minutes March 24,2026 with stated <br />corrections. <br />Motion seconded by Deborah McManus. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Lake Measurements <br />Deborah McManus reported lake level measurements for April, 2026. <br />On April 7, lake levels were measured at 55.1 feet. Stream measurements during this <br />period were 11 inches. There was 13 inches of water flowing over the board. The <br />Department of Public Works (DPW) gauge was recorded at 11 inches. During this period, it <br />was noted that there were trees down. <br />April 19 measurements showed lake levels of 55.0 feet. Water flowing over the board <br />measured approximately 10.5 inches, while stream levels were recorded at approximately <br />10 inches. The DPW gauge reading was recorded at 10.5 inches <br />A discussion was held about whether lake level management should remain the <br />responsibility of volunteers or be formally overseen by the town, such as the Conservation <br />Commission or Department of Natural Resources. Concerns were raised about past <br />flooding, erosion, lack of oversight, and the burden placed on volunteers without technical <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
