<br />MWLMC <br />April 28,2026 <br /> <br />have some maintenance responsibilities, much of the lake itself is state-owned, with the <br />state controlling approximately 500 acres of the roughly 720-acre Mashpee-Wakeby Lake. <br />Concerns were raised about the drop-o? at the end of the boat ramp and the associated <br />safety risks. The DPW Director acknowledged the problem and explained that attempts had <br />been made to fill the area, but the equipment available was not large enough to reach the <br />drop-o?. It was noted that a long-arm excavator would likely be needed and may need to be <br />borrowed from the state. <br />Further discussion highlighted concerns about the lack of a dock, the limited accessibility <br />of the ramp, and uncertainty about future responsibility for improvements or repairs, <br />particularly since any dock installation would require state permitting. It was also noted <br />that the state is currently focused on repairs to the parking lot area rather than the ramp <br />itself. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Spring Newsletter Articles <br />Discussion regarding the spring newsletter included waiting for additional information <br />on fishing tournaments before publication. There was also discussion about reviewing <br />older regulations and reproducing valued historical placards currently displayed on the <br />wall for inclusion in the newsletter.
