This article only clarifies that medium and large- <br />scale systems are only allowed in the Industrial Districts and not allowed in the commercial or residential <br />districts. This amendment is necessary for consistency with another submitted zoning article proposing <br />small-scale solar energy systems allowed by-right in all zoning districts. <br />The Board of Selectmen recommends approval of Article 33 by a vote of 5-0 <br /> <br />The Finance Committee recommends approval of Article 33 by a vote of 5-0 <br /> <br />The Planning Board, following a public hearing on April 15 2020, voted unanimously to recommend <br />Town Meeting approve Article 33. <br /> <br />Motion made <br /> <br />Motion: I move that the Town vote to approve Articles 31, 32, 33, and 34 as printed in the Warrant. <br /> <br />Motion passes by 2/3 vote at 9:04 PM <br /> <br />Article 34 <br /> <br />To see if the Town will vote to amend §174-3 of the Mashpee Zoning Bylaw- Terms Defined as follows: <br />Photovoltaic System (also referred to as Photovoltaic Installation): An active solar energy system that <br />converts solar energy directly into electricity. <br />Solar Energy System, Ground-Mounted: An active solar energy system that is structurally mounted to the <br />ground and is not roof-mounted; may be of any size (small-, medium- or large-scale). <br />Solar Energy System, Large-Scale: An active solar energy system that occupies more than 40,000 square <br />feet of surface area. <br />Solar Energy System, Medium-Scale: An active solar energy system that occupies more than 1,750 but less <br />than 40,000 square feet of surface area. <br />Solar Energy System, Roof-Mounted: An active solar energy system that is structurally mounted to the roof <br />of a building or structure; may be of any size (small-, medium- or large-scale). <br />Solar Energy System, Small-Scale: An active solar energy system that occupies 1,750 square feet of surface <br />area or less. <br /> Submitted by the Planning Board <br /> <br />
