IMP. IMBO
d"fr,,{ynr,fw VhP.
w Mashpee lncCusion and'Diversity Committee
16 Great Neck RoadNorth
Mashyee, M_A 0264.9
Mr. Klein said historically, they have had success with restaurants. They should continue to do
that, identify ethnic restaurants and go after that, like Jamaican, Greek, Asian, Indian, etc.
Ms. Johnson-Graham knows of many Tribal members who are Serve Safe compliant who can
help serve food. She can go to restaurants and have them drop the food off while the serve
safe certified can serve.
Asia and MOTO Pizza sent food. Sienna sent something and they weren't even asked.
Ms. Stevenson noted we all can agree food is a great idea. However, RAD can't keep pursuing
the same requests for grants. This year they made it international themed.
Mr. Klein stated the day may have been tough, with this holiday falling on Flag Day. Falmouth
and Sandwich both had activities that day.
The Chair added the event is always the second Sunday in June. Bourne did the same thing,
they had their event in the morning.
Richard Donovan organizes the tables. He reminded the Committee to keep the tabling
themed focus. The Buzzards Bay festival hosts 300 tents and tables, but they allow life
insurances, and water filtration, but we want to keep it connected to the theme. This year we
had some newcomers tabling, like the Racial Justice of Falmouth and Barnstable Human
Rights Commission joined us.
Ms. Macedo thinks the event is too long for that time of day, it's hard to spend a whole day
somewhere. If it were to start at 11:OOAM people can go to the beach in the afternoon, but how
its currently slated, an entire chunk of the day is hard to commit to.
Mr. Klein commented the first RAD was 11:OOAM-3:OOPM.
Ms. Johnson-Graham also acknowledged the heat during that day, and if she had the choice
she would've been at the water.
It was stated the Committee could use more professional marketing.
3
