of TMs s,s
z.
Aannin Board
c
16 Great Neck Road North
.wlashpee, Aassachusetts 02649
MOTION:
Dennis Balzarini made a motion to continue the Public Hearing to August 19, 2026
at 6:40PM. Seconded by Rob Hansen. All in favor.
7:45PM Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP)
July 2026 version of the Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP)for the Town of Mashpee will be
voted on by the Planning Board at a dually noticed Public Hearing at the Mashpee Town Hall,
Waquoit Meeting Room, 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, MA 02649, at 7:45PM on July
1, 2026.
Ms. Waygan read the Public Hearing notice into the record.
The Town Planner, Brian Tobin, congratulated the Board, the public, and the Department for all
the hard work on this journey, organization, attention to detail, and overall, a great job. The
most recent updated version corrected formatting errors, and some of the largest changes
were additions to the appendix. This included survey summaries for themes of the plan, a prior
Heritage Preservation Chapter from the 1998 LCP, comments this Board deliberated on about
the Growth Policy statement, and just making sure everything flowed nicely with factual
accuracy.
Ms. Waygan noted there were some comments about the housing organizations and asked if
those were added.
Mr. Tobin continued that it was important for this Board to be aware that Lynne Barbee did
submit suggested changes that he made departmentally, as they do not involve policy and
therefore would not implicate the Board. Instead, the changes purely involve factual accuracy,
regarding the role of the Mashpee Housing Authority and also the chart of properties under
their purview.
Ms. Waygan did have one comment about reviewing the Flow Neutral Bylaw and the Tree
Preservation Bylaw as needed and asked if that was input.
Mr. Tobin did not add that because, 1) it speaks to policy and should have been discussed at a
public meeting among Board members, and 2) the request was located far down in her e-mail
9
