Chairperson, Lee
Gurney presided.
Commissioners Present: Rosemary Burns, Lee Gurney, and Frank Lord.
Commissioners Absent: Gordon Peters.
We continue to have two vacancies for the Commissioners.
Rosemary made a motion, and it was seconded, that we accept the Minutes of the July
30, 2009, meeting as read.
Administration:
PAL has completed 2 of the 4 phases of the Archeological Survey on the Town of
Mashpee. These have been reviewed by Rosemary Burns and Lee Gurney, and they
have submitted a few changes and corrections.
We reviewed our budget for fiscal year 2009-2010, and although we have a slight
reduction from last year, the funds which have been allocated should be sufficient to
cover our expenses.
Member Ongoing Projects:
Frank Lord informed the Commissioners that the hand-out brochure for the schoolhouse
is going to be edited and finished by a senior at Mashpee High School as her Senior
Project. He hopes to have it finished soon, and made available for tourists to Mashpee
and specifically, visitors to the one room schoolhouse. He hopes to have them
available at the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce, thereby attracting more visitors not
only to the schoolhouse, but also to the Archives.
Rosemary Burns has written three articles about the history of Mashpee which Lee
Gurney has prepared as handouts. They will continue to collaborate on future articles
