MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> .MAX 17, 1993 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 6:40PM <br /> Members Present: Dan Goggin; Denise Sullivan; John Ferriday and <br /> Roger Dunivan. Tony Gallo was unable to attend. <br /> This was a joint meeting with the Board of Selectmen to discuss the <br /> two seats currently vacant on the Finance Committee and the <br /> recommendation of Deirdre Greelish to the Finance Committee by the <br /> Finance Committee. Selectmen present were Jim Vaccaro, Chairman; <br /> Judy Mills; Nancy Caffyn; Carol Jacobson and George Costa. Mr. <br /> Vaccaro explained that the vacancies that are filled would only be <br /> valid until the Annual Town Meeting in May of 1994. He also stated <br /> that the Finance Committee sent a letter recommending Deirdre <br /> Greelish to fill one of the two vacancies, to expire in May of <br /> 1994. Dan Goggin stated that it was a unanimous vote by the <br /> Finance Committee to appoint Mrs. Greelish to the committee. Mr. <br /> Vaccaro then did a roll call vote to appoint Mrs. Greelish. He <br /> asked the Finance Committee. They responded yes. He asked Mr. <br /> Costa, Ms. Jacobson, Ms. Mills and Ms. Caffyn and they responded <br /> yes. The Town Clerk, Jane LaBute, was then informed that Mrs. <br /> Greelish was appointed and to swear her in and she was. Mr. <br /> Vaccaro then asked if the Selectmen were willing to advertize the <br /> other vacant seat on the Finance Committee to expire in May of <br /> 1994? They all agreed yes. <br /> Finance Committee members then left the joint meeting to hold their <br /> own meeting. This meeting commenced at 8:OOPM. Deirdre Greelish <br /> MOTIONED to accept the Minutes of April 20, 1993 as written. John <br /> Ferriday seconded the Motion and members voted 5-0 in acceptance.. <br /> Denise Sullivan MOTIONED to accept the Minutes of May 3 , 1993 and <br /> May 11, 1993 as written. John Ferriday seconded the Motion and <br /> members voted in acceptance 5-0. <br /> NOMINATIONS <br /> Deirdre Greelish nominated Dan Goggin to be Chairman of the Finance <br /> Committee. John Ferriday seconded the nomination and moved that <br /> the nominations be closed. Roger Dunivan objected and nominated <br /> Deirdre Greelish to be chairman of the Finance Committee. Denise <br /> Sullivan seconded this nomination. Mr. Ferriday mentioned that the <br /> normal progression in the past was that the vice chairman would <br /> become chairman. Mrs. Greelish stated that this was not always so, <br /> for example Mr. Vaccaro had been elected two years in a row. <br /> However, Mrs. Greelish also then stated that she would much rather <br /> be considered for vice chairman. She stated that Mr. Goggin did a <br /> fine job as vice chairman and should be given a chance. Mrs. <br /> sullivan questioned whether Mr. Goggin would be willing to <br />
