MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> MARCH 22, 1994 <br /> MEETING COMMENCED AT 6:45PM <br /> Members Present: Dan Goggin, Chairman; Deirdre Greelish; Denise <br /> Sullivan; Tony Gallo; John Ferriday; Roger Dunivan and Marcia King. <br /> Please note for the record that this meeting was not taped, due to <br /> a shortage of tape recorders in the Town Hall. <br /> There were five departments scheduled to meet with the Finance <br /> Committee to discuss their budgets. They were scheduled and met in <br /> this order, Conservation, Personnel, Town Clerk, Fire Department <br /> and Police Department. The Town Accountant was scheduled to meet <br /> with the Finance Committee at 7:OOPM, but did not attend. The Town <br /> Accountant had only one question and it was resolved the previous <br /> evening. Ms. Rommelmeyer had also decided that she would not , <br /> request an increase in hours for her part time Assistant. <br /> MINUTES <br /> The Minutes of March 16, 1994 have not yet been voted on. <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> There was a memo from Mr. Vaccaro, Selectman, to Mr. Goggin <br /> regarding Community Policing. Attached to the memo was a copy of <br /> the Mashpee Police Department Grant Proposal for additional police <br /> staffing. <br /> There was also a memo from Marilyn Farren to the Board of Selectmen <br /> regarding the reclassification of positions. The memo states that <br /> the Personnel Board was in favor of reclassifying the Assistant <br /> Town Accountant, but wished to table the other reclassification <br /> requests. The Board also wished to hire a consultant for further <br /> reviewing of the salary and wage classification system. <br /> Mr. Dunivan, who is the . liaison to both the Fire and Police <br /> Departments, also received a packet of budget information from each <br /> of the chiefs in each Department and shared the information with <br /> the Finance Committee. Mr. Goggin asked if Mr. Dunivan could <br /> provide details on leasing the Police Department's cruisers? Mr. <br /> Goggin mentioned a Babson study and a payment leasing study which <br /> was referred to in the initial police budget. Mr. Dunivan asked <br /> what is to analyze if he, as the liaison, made the decision for the <br /> Committee? Mr. Dunivan explained that he already gave the <br /> Committee his recommendation comparing Capital expenditures V. a <br /> lease program. Mr. Roger reiterated that everything needed to make <br /> an intelligent decision has ,been provided for by the liaison. Mr. <br /> Dunivan wanted it written in the minutes that if the Chairman <br /> wanted additional information then he could get it himself, because <br /> Mr. Dunivan had already made his recommendation with the necessary <br />
