BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 1990 - REGULAR SESSION <br /> Present: Selectman Carter, Selectman Hanson, Selectman Jacobson, <br /> Selectman Lawrence <br /> Executive Secretary Kevin J. Harrington <br /> Absent: Selectman Gottlieb <br /> Guests: Jim O 'Hara, Paul Ott, Tom Fudala, Dr. DeMoura, <br /> Jim Conroy, George Costa, George Benway, Ernest <br /> Virgilio, William Ethier, John Ferguson and Chris <br /> Burden <br /> The Meeting was Called to Order by Chairman Carter at 7: 00 p.m. <br /> Selectman Jacobson asked that the minutes be amended to reflect on <br /> page 4 '- Deer. Crossing Market; Continuance of Liquor License Hearing, <br /> that another motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the <br /> denial with 3 in favor of the motion and 2 opposed. <br /> Selectman Hanson asked that the minutes be amended to reflect on <br /> page 4 - Jane Labute re: House Numbering, that he stepped down. due <br /> to another commitment to attend a Finance Committee meeting of which <br /> he was late. <br /> Selectman Jacobson made the motion to accept the minutes of. August <br /> 6, 1990. Selectman Hanson seconded the motion. All present were <br /> in favor. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> 7: 05 p.m. Lindsley Auto Sales for a Class II License: <br /> James Lin'dsley was present for the hearing. His leased office <br /> is located in Merry Meadow Plaza. He request approval to buy and <br /> sell used vehicles mainly on a wholesale basis (dealer to dealer) . <br /> He has dealt with this type of business in Yarmouth during 1960 and <br /> 1981. It is his primary full-time business occupation. <br /> The Board of Appeals has granted a special permit for a used <br /> car office with no storage of vehicles on site. <br /> Selectman Jacobson questions the four parking spaces required <br /> for the size of the office. <br /> Mr. Lindsley states no unlicensed vehicles or vehicles for sale <br /> will be on the premises. Most of the work will be done over the <br /> phone and outside of town. <br /> . Kevin Harrington states all paper work is in order with the <br /> execption of a $40 check payable to the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Selectman Hanson made the motion to issue Mr. Lindsl;ey .of. Lindsley <br /> Auto Sales a Class II License to buy and sell used autos under the <br /> conditions. of the Board of Appeals. Selectman Jacobson seconded the <br /> motion. The vote is unanimous with the three Selectmen present. <br /> 7: 12 p.m. Hearing Continuance :Richard Halpern d b a The Riverbend: <br /> Chairman Carter states that Attorney Dunning has indicated that <br /> the representing attorney is away on vacation. The request a con- <br /> tinuance of the hearing from August 20th to September 4th. <br /> Selectman Hanson made the motion to approve the request. <br />
