BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES MONDAY, AUGUST 20, 1990 - REGULAR SESSION Present: Selectman Carter, Selectman Hanson, Selectman Jacobson, Selectman Lawrence Executive Secretary Kevin J. Harrington Absent: Selectman Gottlieb Guests: Jim O 'Hara, Paul Ott, Tom Fudala, Dr. DeMoura, Jim Conroy, George Costa, George Benway, Ernest Virgilio, William Ethier, John Ferguson and Chris Burden The Meeting was Called to Order by Chairman Carter at 7: 00 p.m. Selectman Jacobson asked that the minutes be amended to reflect on page 4 '- Deer. Crossing Market; Continuance of Liquor License Hearing, that another motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the denial with 3 in favor of the motion and 2 opposed. Selectman Hanson asked that the minutes be amended to reflect on page 4 - Jane Labute re: House Numbering, that he stepped down. due to another commitment to attend a Finance Committee meeting of which he was late. Selectman Jacobson made the motion to accept the minutes of. August 6, 1990. Selectman Hanson seconded the motion. All present were in favor. APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: 7: 05 p.m. Lindsley Auto Sales for a Class II License: James Lin'dsley was present for the hearing. His leased office is located in Merry Meadow Plaza. He request approval to buy and sell used vehicles mainly on a wholesale basis (dealer to dealer) . He has dealt with this type of business in Yarmouth during 1960 and 1981. It is his primary full-time business occupation. The Board of Appeals has granted a special permit for a used car office with no storage of vehicles on site. Selectman Jacobson questions the four parking spaces required for the size of the office. Mr. Lindsley states no unlicensed vehicles or vehicles for sale will be on the premises. Most of the work will be done over the phone and outside of town. . Kevin Harrington states all paper work is in order with the execption of a $40 check payable to the Town of Mashpee. Selectman Hanson made the motion to issue Mr. Lindsl;ey .of. Lindsley Auto Sales a Class II License to buy and sell used autos under the conditions. of the Board of Appeals. Selectman Jacobson seconded the motion. The vote is unanimous with the three Selectmen present. 7: 12 p.m. Hearing Continuance :Richard Halpern d b a The Riverbend: Chairman Carter states that Attorney Dunning has indicated that the representing attorney is away on vacation. The request a con- tinuance of the hearing from August 20th to September 4th. Selectman Hanson made the motion to approve the request.
