Mashpee Design Review Committee � . <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Thursday, March 27,2008 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room I <br /> Committee Members Present: Robert Nelson, Thomas O'Hara., Tom Jalowy, and Richard Stevens. . <br /> Absent: Walter Yarosh. <br /> Thomas O'Hara, Vice Chairman, called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. <br /> J Miller Gallery <br /> 681 Falmouth Road <br /> Unit A— 15 & 16 <br /> Applicant—John Miller <br /> i <br /> John Miller appeared and said he is expanding into the space adjacent to his business space and the entrance to <br /> the adjacent space will become the main entrance so he would like to replace their sign and his existing sign, <br /> both of which he believes are in conformity with the guidelines and are under 20 square feet. In reviewing the <br /> proposed signage Tom O'Hara pointed out that the whole awning is considered part of the signage and it would <br /> therefore be in excess of 20 square feet. Mr. Miller questioned this saying he thought it was only the text that <br /> was counted, not the whole awning. Further,Mr. Miller commented that as a precaution he'said he spoke with <br /> -the ZBA and they said it didn't have to go to ZBA to conform. There followed.a very lengthy discussion on the <br /> new signage by-law. Tom Fudala had entered the meeting room to attend Plan Review meeting and Tom <br /> O'Hara asked him to explain new signage by-law...in particular when signage appears on awnings. <br /> Conclusion: Stamped approved. <br /> Harmony Network Chiropractic& Yoga <br /> 681 Falmouth Road <br /> Unit C-16 <br /> Applicant—Dr. Debra Babcock <br /> Dr. Babcock was present. Her application was reviewed. <br /> Conclusion: Stamped approved. <br /> Mad Platter <br /> 5 North Market Street <br /> Representative—John Renz <br /> John Renz was present. The purpose of his appearance at this meeting was to obtain guidelines as to the rules <br /> governing signage. Some of the questions he raised were: <br /> • How is signage calculated when two store fronts are attached to one business? <br /> • Is glass glazing counted in the 10%coverage allowed or is it an extra allowance? Tom O'Hara <br /> responded that it is counted in the 10%. <br /> John Renz said he would return to Design.Review meeting with a sign program for review by the Committee. <br />
