Minutes of Combined Meeting of <br /> Mashpee Design Review Committee and <br /> Mashpee Plan Review Committee <br /> Held Thursday,July 10, 2008 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 1 <br /> Design Review Members Present: Walter Yarosh,Robert Nelson, and Richard Stevens. <br /> Plan Review Members Present: <br /> Richard Stevens,Building Inspector <br /> Sheldon Hamblin,Deputy Fire Chief <br /> Drew McManus, Conservation Agent <br /> Tom Fudala, Town Planner <br /> Joel Clifford—Fire Inspector(available for only a portion of the meeting) <br /> Glen Harrington,Health Agent <br /> Charlie Maintanis, Local Inspector <br /> Richard Stevens called the meeting to order at 9:04 a.m. <br /> 800 Falmouth Road <br /> Summerfield Park <br /> Temporary Portable Structure <br /> Mobile Diagnostic Unit <br /> Representative—George Gakidis <br /> George Gakidis,Jack Harty, and Lou Masella appeared. George Gakidis showed the Committee the existing <br /> site plan of the whole property and he identified parking spaces they are eliminating to enable turning around <br /> capabilities. Following points were made by George Gakidis and were discussed: <br /> • Awning enclosure connects temporary building to permanent building. <br /> • Temporary permit for about b months being requested while they build permanent building. A question <br /> was raised as to how long temporary situation can be allowed. Richard Stevens checked and said the <br /> limit for a temporary structure when building is one year. <br /> • They plan on removing curb on the comer. <br /> • Building will be in use while the building is being renovated. <br /> • 20 extra parking spaces are being provided behind building"C". <br /> • No plumbing in the unit. Only utilities will be for power. <br /> • They are talking about tying in fire alarm from the other building to the unit. <br /> • They will ultimately have a diagnostic center there. <br /> • When fully functional,they will have 4 full-time employees. <br /> « They have a diesel generator with a 50-g4llon tank just supporting this unit. It supports life-supporting. <br /> systems. <br /> • No doctor at the facility. <br /> • No medical waste. Same people who bring in supplies transport it. <br /> • Service 5 patients per day. Lou Masella said they see ambulatory patients—primarily oncology patients. <br /> • Building is Unit 109, which is where Human Services was located previously. <br /> • Walter Yarosh asked. Does the handicap ramp go down to the loading dock? Applicant responded <br /> "yes",but used as a second means of egress and only used as an emergency exit. He said the front has <br /> handicap access. Suggestion. get rid of back ramp and put in stairs. <br />
