Continue to provide the Town officials with
essential financial and statistical data
necessary to make valid comparisons of current
year versus prior year expenditures.
Indicate those vendors that conduct a
considerable amount of business with the Town
but are not under contract and perhaps should
be.
However, we are not recommending at this time, the Town of
Mashpee purchase their own data processing equipment. Rather, we
recommend the Town conduct a feasibility study encompassing both
financial and non-financial aspects of the following:
w Purchasing Data Processing Equipment
. Leasing Data Processing Equipment
. Contracting with a Service Bureau
This feasibility study should address such issues as the
current as well as long-term demands that will be placed on the
system, support staff and training necessary to maintain the system, .
etc.
During the audit we noted there were many outstanding tax
titles that date back to the. last audit conducted by the Bureau of
Accounts. . We recommend that legal counsel be instructed to research
these tax titles and take appropriate action.
a .
CHARLES E. DiPESA & CO., BOSTON, MASS. (617) 423-3555
