On all contracts for labor, materials, supplies, equip- <br /> ment, merchandise or other articles wherein the amount involved. is <br /> $500.00 or more, the board, department , committee or dfficials of the <br /> town in charge of the expenditure of such money shall be required to <br /> submit the awarding of the same to public bid and no expenditure shall ' <br /> be permitted of $500 .00 or in excess thereof unless the same shallhave <br /> been awarded upon public bid. <br /> ARTICLE X. TR Na±'ORTATiOP REGULATIONS <br /> Section 1. No elected officer of the Town. of Mashpee, except a member <br /> 4 of the Board of Assessors , shall receive any compensation for transportation <br /> within the limits of the Town. <br /> Section 2. When any officer or member of any board, paid or unpaid, <br /> is called upon to go to any point outside the Town of Mashpee on official <br /> business connected with the duties of his office, he shall be entitled <br /> to receive pay on the following basis : If he travels by rail or by water, <br /> he shall be allowed the amount of his fare; if he travels by motor vehicle, <br /> he shall be allowed the rate of eight ( 80 ) cents per mile of travel. <br /> f{ Section 3. Where it is necessary to transport by automobile or truck <br /> c } any laborers employed by any department of the Town , (a) the expense <br /> incurred shall be charged in as "transportation of labor" ; (b) all charges <br /> for transportation of labors . all be made on the basis of so much per hour <br /> or per day for the actual time consumed by the conveyance in transporting <br /> the labor; ( c) all expenses for transportation of labor shall be charged <br /> against the appropriation for that departmental work on which the trans- <br /> ported laborers are employed. <br /> Section 4. any Automobile or truck employed by the town and carrying <br /> one or more laborers whose work is connected directly with the operation <br /> x of the truck, or any apr�aratus or materials carried by the truck, shall be <br /> charged under "trucking" at so much per hour or day, and shall not be <br /> entitled to any additional charges for tr��.nslportation of labor of materials. <br /> ' ARTICLE: XI. Setting or maintaining fires on all public beaches is <br /> prohibited except on approval of the Mash-pee Beach Committee and. by J. <br /> special written permit therefor issued by the lflaslypee Fire Department. <br /> Section 2. The use of alcoholic b verages including the bringing of <br /> $ alcoholic beverages on any of the public beaches is absolutely prohibited. <br /> x Section 3. The flaying, of baseball of softball on said public beaches <br /> is prohibited. <br /> Section 4. No dogs shall. be brought upon any of said public beaches <br /> nor permitted thereon. <br /> Section 5.
