MINUTES February 4, 1999 9 BOARD OF HEALTH
been resolved by the time the next bi-monthly report comes out." "That's why I
would never send DEP a checklist that has an issue on it that is unresolved."
"These reports are supposed to have corrected actions on them".
Mr. Doherty noted, "So you provide the same exact service?"
Mr. Bauer answered, "Basically, if you look at your chart, I provide the same
service Weston and Sampson does but a step further." "I am interested in making
the whole system function the way it is supposed to function for that adds value to
my service and it doesn't cost any extra money." "I am a small company so I have
incentive to look for work." "I have lower fees than Weston& Sampson and I am
right down the street." "There are no other companies like mine anywhere in
southeastern Mass." "Take a look at the hazard communications plan." "These
plans are designed so that you can read them easily." "We use a system called
Information Mapping, and it is mapped out in the same way that your brain
absorbs the information." "It is not a lot of information to read and not in a big
long narrative form." "It's easy to use for training". "You would get something
like this for the Town Offices, the Operation Center, the Transfer Station". "It is a
document that can be signed off on as people read it and say that they
understand".
Mr. Ball added, "And it protects us".
Mr. Bauer stated, "We are doing some similar work with the Town of Falmouth
(call George Calise if you like), the Town of Orleans and a fair amount with the
private industry as well".
Mr. Ball asked, "How did you come up with the name?"
Mr. Bauer answered, "Green Seal refers to a Seal of Approval on Recycling
Operations, a "green seal of approval" and uses the recycling symbol". "It means
that it is an operation that looks towards being renewable and looks towards
saving energy and money".
Mr. Ball asked, "How long have you been in business?"
Mr. Bauer answered, "Two years". "I have been with the company one year and
my partner started the year previous that." "I come from private consultant work
that includes superfund sites in my 15 years in the field".
Mr. Doherty asked, "Who are the principals in the company?"
Mr. Bauer answered, "Myself and Greg Wirsen".
Ms. Mayer asked, "When it came time for the white goods removal, would you
actually research as to who is removing what, where, when, and how much?"
